I am a experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working in the Victoria and Westminster area of London SW1.
As a member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) and FPC (Foundation for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I am bound by the strict ethical and professional codes of those bodies and listed on their public registers.
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, I work from the principle that difficulties in the present may relate to experiences earlier in life. Understanding the causes of these can relieve stress and anxiety, and open up the possibility of change. At times many of us experience anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement or relationship issues. Whatever the nature of your current difficulties, speaking with a psychotherapist or counsellor offers a safe and confidential space in which you can speak freely without fear of judgement.
Starting psychotherapy or counselling can feel daunting and cause anxiety in itself, so an initial assessment session will give you an idea of what it will be like. Therapy is a very personal thing and relies in part on how comfortable you feel talking to a particular therapist. There is no obligation to continue after the first session if you feel that I am not the right therapist for you.
During the assessment session we will explore the nature of your issues and how I may be able to help. I will also use the time to find out more about you and your background. We can then discuss together how best to proceed. Sometimes it may be necessary to have a second assessment session for us to decide if further sessions are appropriate. I offer both open-ended counselling and psychotherapy and time limited counselling for 6 or 12 sessions. All sessions start on the hour and last 50 minutes.
I work from a comfortable consulting room five minutes walk from Victoria Station, London SW1. My practice is within easy reach of Westminster, Pimlico, Belgravia, Chelsea and other areas of Central London.
An initial assessment session costs £55. If I feel a second assessment session is required, a reduced fee of £80 for the two sessions would be charged. The fee for assessment is payable on the day by cash or cheque.
My fee for ongoing individual once weekly sessions is £55 per session.
I also offer twice weekly therapy when I feel it is appropriate (at a lower fee).
I have a limited number of reduced fee sessions during the morning and afternoon for undergraduate students at £30 per session. These fill quickly, so please check availability with me on enquiry.
If you are looking for a therapist in the Victoria and Westminster areas of Central London, please phone or email me to arrange an initial meeting, and I will respond as soon as possible.
